The Glebe Centre is a unionized environment. Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) represents Registered Nurses. CUPE (Canadian Association of Public Employees) represents the majority of other staff.
The Long-Term Care Residence operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year. The Community Programs operate Monday - Friday most of the year.
Some positions have day, evening and night shifts. There are also casual hours worked by Resident Care, Food Services, Maintenance and Housekeeping staff. The kinds of experience we need at Glebe Centre include Community Services, Environmental Services, Finance and Administration, Food Services, Nursing and Recreational Activities.
All job applicants must provide satisfactory criminal records check, valid within the last year, be qualified for the position and provide satisfactory references.
The following positions require appropriate certification or licenses: Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses, Personal Support Workers, Food Service Workers, Program Facilitators. Other positions require experience, availability and specific knowledge. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
