Bronson Place

Prior to 1995 the Glebe Centre consisted of the original building Abbotsford House and the newer high-rise building ("The Tower"). It had long been realized that the Tower was not able to accommodate the demand for new resident applications, however. Therefore in 1997 the Glebe Centre opened a new 2-storey building adjacent to Abbotsford House and named it "Bronson Place". This was linked to Abbotsford House which in turn was also linked to the Tower. Bronson Place also has a basement level and two entrances. One entrance was off Bank Street used only by staff. The main entrance was on Monk Street with a small car-park in front.

With the opening of the Residence Building in 2004 the structure of Bronson Place changed somewhat. The groundlevel corridor to Abbotsford House was removed, the Monk Street entrance was sealed and the portion of the ground floor that accommodated offices and cafeteria was converted into resident rooms. Bronson Place is still however an integral part of our Long-Term Care Services.
